Out-Of-Office Dates

• I will be out from Wednesday, December 7th, returning to work on Tuesday, December 20th.
• Place your product orders before 5 PM PST on Monday, December 5th to ensure they ship before I leave.
• All emails and calls will be returned after my trip, thanks so much for your patience while I recharge!

If you can't find the time you want, be sure to get on my waitlist! I will often be able to fit people in spots that may not appear available online. With my trip, I have opened some times/days I don't usually work. so be sure to check it out.
 

Pre-Order In My Shop!
There's a great new feature in my online shop. You can now pre-order most items when they are back-ordered, so no more sending a message or trying to remember to check if it's been restocked! The estimated ship date will be listed when you purchase. Any other in-stock items included in your order will ship right away. Let me know if you have any questions!

October News!

 Ok, I know it's still September, but just a few quick updates for the upcoming busy month! Unfortunately, my business summit was canceled as St. Petersburg was in the path of Hurricane Ian. (I'll look forward to attending early in 2023 when they get it rescheduled.) However, that does free up a few appointments so jump online and schedule, or reach out to me directly!

Wanna Get Dermaplaned?
As many of you already know, I received my certification in Dermaplaning! I have a handful of spots left in October for clients to receive a complimentary standalone dermaplane treatment before it becomes officially available in November. Email me, or respond to this newsletter if you're interested and we'll see if you're a good candidate and what time I have remaining. Details below.

• Dermaplaning is a deep, but gentle form of physical exfoliation that removes superficial layers of skin, vellus hair (peach fuzz), and debris using a surgical scalpel.
• This treatment doesn't have a lot of contraindications, but is to be avoided if you've been using Accutane (in the last 12 months), are using blood thinners, or have a history of bleeding problems, active acne lesions, or active cold sore breakout. 
• Retin-A users will need to stop for 5 days, pre and post-treatment.
• Not recommended if you tend to be "jumpy".  (lol)
• I'll be doing a standalone dermaplane - a double cleanse, dermaplane, and finishing products. It will be available in the future both as a standalone service ($95.) and in my full-length customized facial ($195.).
• Must be available Tuesday-Friday during the day. Sorry, no evenings or weekends.

Cold, Flu & (Hopefully not!) COVID season
This is your seasonal reminder to please please please not come in for an appointment if you're experiencing any symptoms of illness (with anything, not just COVID). If you come in sick, I'll have to turn you away and charge the cancellation fee, and nobody wants that. Help me keep my unicorn (COVID-free) status and stay open. Fingers crossed we can all stay well!

 It's shaping up to be a busy fall with a lot of exciting news! I've been involved in a slew of training following my conference at the end of June with more to come in September and October. While I'm really excited to be launching some new modalities and products this Fall, I'll be out of the office for training, a business summit, and some family-related travel. Please be sure you have your appointments booked (and on your calendar) and be sure to get your product orders in. Dates, new features, and teasers on the upcoming additions are below.

Upcoming Out-Of-Office dates

• September 12th through the 16th (Place product orders by noon PST on 9/10!)
• Mid-day October 1st through the 5th (Place product orders by noon PST on 10/1!)
• There are a number of other upcoming days out that will impact appointment availability, but should have minimal impact on product orders.

The Waitlist & Last-Minuting!
I've just launched a waitlist. If the day/time you want is not available, just fill out the form and I'll reach out if there is a cancellation or reschedule. You can find it on my "Schedule an Appointment Page", my online booking page, or simply go to jjodar.com/waitlist. My online system has its limitations, you can't book last minute, and there are often spots I can make work that won't appear available online. So get on the list!

I am also starting a feature I'm calling "last-minuting" through stories on Instagram. I will post any last-minute availability (when I have it), early in the week, and you just text, email or DM me to grab it. It won't be available online. So if you're one of those people who tends to leave things for the last minute - this will be for you. If you don't already, you can follow me on Instagram here.

New Modalities & Services Coming Soon...
Dermaplaning
A form of deep physical exfoliation that removes dead cell buildup as well as vellus hair (AKA "peach fuzz") for smooth, even skin. Look for this new addition in early November after I complete my certification!

Gua Sha
Not a new technique by any stretch, but new to my practice! For those of you who have experienced my Kansa wand massage - the benefits are similar in reducing the appearance of puffiness and increasing the look of firm skin. Look for this to be added into treatments at the end of September - early October.

Not Feeling Great? Please Reschedule!
A reminder to not come in for any treatment if you're not feeling well, even with a negative COVID test. The latest variants have had people testing negative even when symptomatic for a number of days before getting a positive rapid test. And hey, if it's not COVID, that's great, but I still don't want to catch whatever it is! I don't have the luxury of working from home, and a COVID diagnosis could have me closed for up to 2 weeks. Please help me stay open and healthy!!

Upcoming Out-Of-Office Dates
In just over a month, my schedule is going to get a little hectic. I'll be attending the International Esthetics, Cosmetics, & Spa Conference in Las Vegas at the end of June, and I have jury duty the week of July 4th, so my availability will be limited. Please plan your appointments and product orders accordingly.

• Out from June 25th through June 29th
• Out for jury duty July 5th through July 8th
• During jury duty, some evening appts will be available and of course, I will open my book if I get released. I'll be keeping a waiting list for anyone who wants to get in that week.

COVID-19
Starting today, the city of San Francisco has lifted the indoor mask mandate, and I wanted to clarify my policies going forward. Thanks for your understanding - these precautions have kept me COVID-free and allow me to avoid closure due to exposure.

• I require proof of vaccination (& booster) for all services
• I will continue to be masked for the duration of all services.
• My medical-grade air purifiers continue to hum 24-7.
• Please reschedule if you have ANY symptoms of illness, or have been exposed.

Front Door Access

• As some of you know - the front door access panel has not been functioning at 100%
• You can still dial *83, but Tuesday through Friday, when the security guard is at the desk you can also dial #67 and he will buzz you in from the desk.
• Of course, you can always text me and I'll pop down to get you! Hopefully, the whole system will be replaced soon. Thanks for your patience with this!

Retail Price Increase 2/18
Due to increased costs from suppliers and vendors, there will be a modest price increase for some retail products. This goes into effect on Friday, so head over to shop.jjodar.com to stock up before then!

FAQs
Can I share a membership?
Sorry, memberships are for individuals only. You can, however, “gift” a limited number of treatments each year. (See The Fine Print below)

Do I have to start in January?
Nope. Your membership can start on any day of the year and will go for one year.

What if we go into lockdown again?
If that were to happen, all memberships would be put on “pause” until reopening is allowed.

What if the appointment time I want isn’t available?
Appointments are subject to availability (first come, first served) which is why I recommend a standing appointment. I will only be accepting a limited number of memberships to ensure high-demand times are available to members.

What if I already have a package?
Current outstanding packages will be honored for 2 years from the date of purchase (as they always have been) before returning to the cash value. Just reach out if you’d like clarification on your package expiration date! 

How do I sign up?
Just let me know at your next appointment and we’ll get you signed up!

The Fine Print

• Appointments are subject to availability. I highly recommend a standing appointment!  
• Appointments are subject to my 48-hour cancellation policy - no shows or cancellations inside of 48 hours will be considered a redeemed appointment.
• Can’t make it in? I get it, life happens. Priority members can “gift” up to two treatments (Maintenance members can “gift” one) to anyone you wish. These treatments must be booked and performed before the expiration/renewal date of your membership. Inside of 48 hours, a treatment cannot be “gifted”, unless they take your originally scheduled slot.
